Well lately i feel like everyday is the best day! Today my bestfriend who is also our neighbor that helped call the ambulance for my dad went to the hospital with me! My dad looks so good it's unreal! He's off his oxygen and so alert! He even danced in his bed when a Christmas jingle from th tv was playing! He hugged me so tight I didn't want to leave! He directed me very well with what tv show he wanted to watch and he also helped tell the nurse he wanted a bath by pointing to his soap! Ive never met a stronger person! He inspires me in so many different ways that I can't even explain! Dad hugged Alex and listen to her plans about school. Alex and I also told dad we were planning on doing some extreme workouts over Christmas break & he laughed at us! Knowing we always say this and rarely follow through. Everyday keeps my faith alive because seeing him one step closer just proves God is good!

  1. Hey Brook! Can you post the address for your dad? I would like to start sending some cards and correspondence to him. Thanks! Your dad is a fighter!

  2. Hi Brooke,

Thanks so much for keeping this blog updated. I wanted to let you know when I return from my ski vacation I will definitely come and get Tripp and take him to doggy day camp so he can play all-day with Cayman Island and other dogs :) Also, please tell John that his team is getting closer to the magic number of 200 (188). Just tell him that Linda called me today from Indy and said looks like she may end up losing their bet :) We are thinking and praying for you all daily to have faith and continue to be strong. ---John's only female Louisville Cardinal fan---MB

  6. So you are watching Christmas movies?? Well one of my favorites is "Santa Clause is Comin' to Town". This year, "Winter Warlock" will officially change to "Wethington Warlock" and we will all be singing along as you "put one foot in front of the other". Soon you'll be walking out the door! Love and hugs to the whole family. Brooke, thank you so much for these posts.

  7. Brooke,

We spent time with your dad when we were all little ones. My mom and dad were old friends with your grandparents. My husband Richard also had a TBI about eight years ago. He has made it back to work and is doing really well. We started writing about our journey here -- http://wonderingwhoyouare.tumblr.com/

We sent a package to Frasier that you all should receive today. We are sending love for a beautiful recovery and if you want to talk about anything at all, our contact information is at our blog.

    Grateful on this beautiful Thanksgiving,
