Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a great Saturday! My dad is doing amazing! He's enjoying his daily coffee and in great spirits! I think he may be a little sick of mom and the rest of us always hugging him and telling him how proud we are. Haha. My dad is also so happy to be home and in his recliner watching some sports and hanging out with the dog! Our 90lb golden doodle was ecstatic to see him. So sweet! All of the cards and letters sent to our house have been opened and read by my dad! He seems shocked so many people care about him. I can't believe it's been 10 weeks since the stroke. This day 10 weeks ago we weren't sure if my dad was going to make it, and today were counting each blessing and thanking god for everything he's given us. The doctors have continually told us its a miracle he's alive. My dad was Frazier rehabs longest patient. They are amazed at his progress! I'm pretty sure my dads awesome personality had a little effect on the nurses and therapist as well. They really loved him! I'm more impressed with my mom more than anyone though, she has been the root to all of our journey. My mom is the reason my dad is making progress. Yes ,he's being strong and fighting this, but without her all of us would have given up! If everyone was as positive and loving as my mother this world would be a better place! I just have to brag on her because she deserves it. Without all of our friends and family we also couldn't have come this far! So many nights that I would stay home with Maggie while mom was at Frazier with dad and people brought us warm meals. Thank you so much. Prayer really works! We love you all! I'll update everyone with his therapy some time next week!

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I've blogged! I've been incredibly busy, and sometimes you just need a break from everything! Id love to say my dad is doing awesome! He's now using the restroom without to much assistance and he's also eating well! He has said a few different words and can talk to me on the phone in a unique way! He's getting stronger! It's amazing how far he's come in a little over a month. I'm thankful for all of our physical therapist and doctors. Dad thinks hes very independent and wants to do everything by himself he's so motivated. They work on stairs everyday to prepare him to come home. They also have dogs that come visit, he's a little iffy about them sometimes but they make him smile as well! Continue to pray and remember we appreciate everything! We've got a great team!

Good morning! I apologize for not blogging lately! I've been extra busy and was also sick! We're back on track! Dad is now using the bathroom on his own, well with the help of a nurse! This is a huge step! He's done very well! He's also eating a lot more and verbally making more noises! His speech therapy gets better everyday. Make sure to wish mom a belated birthday, her birthday was dec 6th. The doctor is saying maybe 5 or 6 weeks until dad will be able to come home. We just want to make sure he's as independent as possible! He's so amazing and so strong, I truly look up to him! He's a great man! Thank you everyone who is praying. Prayer is working. Also thank you everyone whom is sending us food it's a huge help! We love y'all :).

Good morning! Another great day, dad passed his swallowing test Thursday so this morning he's eating eggs and yogurt! The peg placement will stay in just to make sure he gets the proper nutrition. I just want everyone to know how much my mom is doing, if it wasn't for her none of us would be in such great spirits. She has literally held my dads hand every step of the way! It takes a lot to be in a hospital everyday and watch him go through this so I'm really thankful my mom is the person she is. My dad is mumbling more and more everyday, his speech will be here soon I can feel it! He walks a little more and a little easier everyday as well. We have a Charlie brown Christmas tree in his room (that is dads favorite Christmas movie)! My mom always makes him smile!

So today was a pretty amazing day for my dad! He passed the swallowing test! He will eat a banana tomorrow and some apple sauce along with some other things! He is really starting to mumble a lot. His speech is going to be here in no time! My moms birthday is December 6th and she told dad today the only thing she wanted for her birthday was him to say "Love you". He smiled , hes going to make that happen for her! He walked on the treadmill today with his belt and help of the PT's. This whole situation really makes me appreciate everything I use everyday and take for granted. Hes the strongest person I know! I'm so proud of him! He makes changes everyday. We love you so much dad! Hang in there! :)

Good afternoon! Yesterday dad mumbled and laughed our loud! That's the first we have heard either! He also has great movement in his right leg! He's really enjoyed his visitors over the last few days , thanks guys! He is shaving by himself and now learning to change the channels on the tv remote. He wrote his name with his left hand with examples. I hope he will be talking sooner now that we have heard a mumble , thats a big improvement to us. I'm pretty sure he's getting sick of watching tv & only enjoys the basketball games now! He's so motivated he always suggests working out even on his days off! He's going to make sure he does everything he can to make this a short process! We love you dad!
